How to Go Green

from wikiHow – The How to Manual That You Can Edit
Green is the predominant color in nature, and today it’s often associated with environmentally-friendly choices and lifestyles. If you want to go green, here are several ideas to get you started.

  1. Make your next event a green one. Just because you want to go green doesn’t mean you need to cut back on the good times. Green events still enable you to celebrate and be healthy and environmentally-friendly at the same time. You can even Have a Green Wedding!
  2. Take action to reduce global warming. There are many, many things you can do to minimize the release of greenhouse gases into the atmosphere. Basically, the less we depend on fossil fuels, the better!
  3. Grow your own food. If you have access to some land, maybe you can Practice Sustainable Agriculture. If all you have is a balcony, you can still grow things like beans and peas, tomatoes, and herbs in pots. And if all you have is a window, become a guerilla gardener: find a patch of dirt anywhere in your neighborhood and plant stuff there. Whatever you can’t grow, support your local farmers and buy it at a farmers’ market.
  4. Get around green. Consider whether you can Live Without a Car. At first, you might think it’s impossible, but there are so many other ways to get around these days. If you can’t part with your car, consider buying a hybrid, using biodiesel, and hypermiling. Replace as much of your car use as possible with the following:
  5. Watch your water. Look for ways to Save Water around the house, and encourage others to do the same. You can also save water outside the house with a sleeping lawn or by xeriscaping. In addition to using less water, take steps towards keeping the water we already have nice and clean: How to Reduce Water Pollution. If there are any leaks in the faucet, fix them imediatley.
  6. ]]Reduce, reuse, and recycle! In a consumerist society, it can be difficult go for even a day without buying anything. When you do buy stuff, try to make sure it’s stuff that will last a long time and can serve multiple purposes; avoid buying disposable items when possible. Also, consider the “greenness” of the company that made it! Before throwing anything away, try to find creative ways to reuse it. You’d be surprised what you can do with old Altoids tins, socks, plastic bags, plastic bottles, and, well, everything.
  7. Green your closet. You can certainly be green without wearing green. The first rule is to never throw clothing away; always donate it to a charitable organization so it can be reused by someone else. But before you even part with a garment, try to think of ways you can revamp it and give it a little extra mileage. There are more than 20 ways you can give a t-shirt a makeover. A pair of pants can easily become a purse. So can a bra, for that matter. Even a trip to the tailor can turn a poorly fitted garment into a flattering outfit. When you do go shopping, favor thrift stores.
  8. Enjoy the outdoors. Communing with nature is more resource-friendly than going to the movies or restaurant or mall. Instead of traveling with an RV, why don’t you Go Canoe Camping? Instead of getting McDonald’s or Wendy’s, why don’t you find nature’s munchies? Instead of staying at a hotel, why don’t you pitch a tent or a hammock?
  9. Green your home. Consider downsizing your home so you have less space to heat or cool and less room to fill up with stuff you really don’t need. If you want to be extra green, Start Living in a Tiny House, Camp As a Lifestyle, or Live in Your Car!

What type of Music

Music effects everyone in the world. Be it if you have a stick and you are beating a tree or a nice system blaring in your car. It brings primal emotions out; joy, sadness and rage.

Joy: I could imagine pumping tunes at a dance club -the bass pulsing though your body, the need to move. An urge that is not only primal but chemical aswell. Or maybe a rock/ metal live performance , the rock ballad. Yes surely it would put the people in a joyous state, smile and esteem all pumped up.

Sadness: Love songs, screw that shit. But there is nothing wrong with feeling a little remorse or pain. That’s what makes us human. Listen to it when your alone, had a couple beers and your gonna see tears and hear sobbing only to realize it’s your own.

Kid Rock – \”Only God Knows Why\”

Rage: Designed to feed your angst, come on every body has some, even the quiet librarian who looks so meek and controlled. In a world full of so many beliefs and ANGRY people.

Rage against the Machine- People of the Sun

On a final note R & B doesn’t really count as music….

When I was young and foolish!

True Story!

On a Wednesday night there was only one place to go, a place of hardcore music, weird people and really cheap drinks. The drinks were so cheap both in price and in quality that you knew there was gonna be problems the next day i.e.  fever, diarrhoea and memory loss. Burn was a great night club, people dressed down to go there and just didn’t give a shit about anything, dark and gloomy with two different themed dance floors, rap and alterative metal/rock. The bar counters were always sticky with spilled drinks hhmm my kind of place.

The drinks special on Wednesday Night were any shot R1,50 so of course most of us drank whiskey and water with the occasional black label beer. AAhhh, this is where my story starts….

Something like this was common

After consuming a large amount of whiskey and beer I was staggering around trying to bob and weave in a series of hardcore complex dance routines thereby showing my dominance on the dance floor. I was getting tired, the people on the dance floor knew I was that good and my drinks were one sip to being finished, which is the signal to get MORE.

On the way to the bar a great idea was formed in my brain. Actually it was a terrible idea but I’m sure someone had implanted it earlier, something like inception. My idea was to walk home, which by the way was at least 20 kilometers away.

Without so much of a farewell to my friend, I started the long trek home. I was feeling good, in a jovial manner I was crab-walking along the street. After some time I found myself in some bushes, I didn’t remember going into a forest. In the distance I heard,

“Get out of my garden, I’m going to call the police.”

What I proberly looked like

At that point I realized that I was more lost than I thought. And what a mean old lady, here I am lost and confused. Ok, so I was properly on my hands and knees crawling around but she should have helped out or at least give me a shirt or something. Anyway I didn’t feel like spending the night in jail so I decided to get the hell out there as fast as possible.

After some more crab-walking I found myself in a strange white building. It was dark and strangely eerie. I was scared! Some of booze effects was wearing off but this means instead of seeing 4  I was only seeing double. Out of nowhere a man approached and said,

“What are you doing here? Visiting hours are between 11 and 4.”

“WTF, whers immm ?” ,was my reply

“You’re in the hospital”

I explained to the security guard that I was lost and so on. I don’t think he understood much of what I was said however at that stage a stoke of luck happened. One of my friends found me. After many explanations from my friend and dirty looks from me we left. I was still in the walking mood and kindly informed my friends at that stage I was going to continue my walk home. Then I overheard some thing that sobered me up. Thank god they didn’t resort to this, instead I meekly got in the car and was escorted home. What I overheard was,

“Hey Ross, I think we have a brick and baseball bat in the boot, I think we should use it to calm him down”

Seriously, WTF!

So when I can’t take what life gives me I’m gonna pop a pill and then everything is going to be better. If that’s the case, I might aswell just have a stash of cocaine in my pocket. Oooo I’m feeling sad, let me just powder my nose.

So some of you are thinking I’m being a little harsh. Well, too bad I’m just saying the truth. If it’s socially acceptable to take antidepressants when then we live in a sad, sad world. What ever happened to dealing with shit and getting over it.

One is not gonna be enough, give me the whole pack!

“O, damn my girlfriend broke up with me-pop a pill”

“O, my father just died-pop a pill”

“O, I just got fired pop a pill”

“O, A leaf just fell of that tree- pop a pill”

“O, It’s raining today- pop a pill”

When will it ever stop?

Looking at some research you might aswell take a headache pill labelled “antidepressant”

“A review of all studies of antidepressants ever submitted to the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA), published and unpublished, was submitted to the FDA in 2004. In the published literature, antidepressants had 94% success in treating depression.[1][2] In the withheld literature, they had below 50% success.[1] Combined, all studies showed 51% efficacy[1] – only two points better than that of placebo”

How many people take that shit?

“There are 2.4 billion drugs prescribed in visits to doctors and hospitals annually, of those, 118 million are for antidepressants”

What a load of bullshit!

Ok, enough of my ranting, I just opened a beer and I feel depressed so gotta go pop my pill.
